We are currently hiring for a Bilingual Learning & Development Specialist for our Mount Pleasant, Iowa facility.

Job Summary: 

Learning & Development Specialist is responsible for delivering various development topics, providing service and support for learning efforts throughout the organization, and support ongoing usage and availability of L&D resources and facilities. The L&D Specialist will also be a resource for both internal and external customers as well as leading the new hire orientation process.  The L&D Specialist will lead leadership develoment intiatives, drive onboarding discussions, and assess performance gaps to help guide development solutinos in these areas.


Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Delivery and thorough understanding of various developmental materials.
  • Customer service including internal marketing, coordination, and scheduling of learning events.
  • Maintenance of training room, educational supplies, and audiovisual equipment.
  • Maintenance of personnel, training records, and various databases; data entry as needed.
  • Prepare  materials for learning events.
  • Verbal and written translation for training sessions, interviews, and other organizational communications as needed.
  • Be a resource to new team members through new team member orientation, support, and follow-up.
  • Act as a liaison between the Learning and Development Department/HR Department and other departments and team members throughout the organization.
  • Possess knowledge and understanding of leadership principles.
  • Show proficiency in presentation skills (various topics).
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills, interpersonal skills and positive influence.
  • Assist in resolving business related issues.
  • Analyze data to improve development opportunities.
  • Adapt to the changing needs of the Learning and Development Department.
  • General Support for internal/external customers.
  • Flexibility of schedule to meet needs of team members on various shifts.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements

  • Bilingual skill set is required.  English and Spanish priority.
  • Associate’s Degree in related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Laerning and Development experience is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is beneficial.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Must be able to work independently without constant supervision.
  • Must be able to problem solve.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to adjust quickly to changing demands.
  • Advanced computer skills including Google Suite.
  • Must be able to work extended hours and weekends if needed.
  • Candidates must successfully pass post-offer/pre-employment drug test and background screen.
  • Food Safety Certification through Iowa State University-required (WLF paid).
