We are currently hiring for a Environmental Supervisor for Bolingbrook, Illinois facilities.

Job Summary:

Environmental Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining compliance of all environmental laws and regulations at the facility.  This position will be the environmental management representative and champion of the facility ISO 14001 and Landfill Free initiative.

 Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain environmental compliance with all laws and regulations including permits and any reporting requirements.
  • Serve as the lead trainer for all team members for any spills at the facilities and work instructions for landfill free and ISO 14001.
  • Responsible for ensuring spills have been properly cleaned up and certified vendors will be responding to the spill cleanup efforts.
  • Report all required information to the state EPA and other reporting agencies within the required timelines.
  • Ensure all audits are completed and any findings are followed through with corrective action.
  • Champion of our Environmental Management Programs.
  • Ensure compliance and continued recertification of the Landfill Free certificates for the Illinois facilities.
  • Maintain compliance with all recycling initiatives. 
  • Search for new alternative recycling and more cost efficient outlets for the recycling and contaminated plastics.
  • Maintain the Landfill Free database.
  • Ensure compliance and continued recertification of the ISO 14001 certifications.
  • Manage and maintain environmental sustainability projects.
  • Assist in negotiating environmental service agreements and managing the costs associated with our programs.
  • Drive environmental strategies and action plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all wastewater permits with the city and complete corrective actions for all non-compliance concerns.
  • Partner with the Environmental Management Team at the facility for continuous improvement of the teams for electrical, water and natural gas.
  • Supervise the janitors and housekeepers at the main facility in Illinois and be EHS point of contact at Liberty Cold.
  • Drive continual improvement in quality, productivity, efficiency and cost.
  • Auditing the landfill free and ISO 14001 procedures throughout the facility.  Ensure that work instructions are being followed.  
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental and safety regulations.
  • Partner with all departments of the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience is preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent is preferred.
  • Computer experience - Google (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides).
  • Creative and innovative thinking, able to think outside of the box.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop others.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment of continuous change and challenges.
  • Must be able to work extended hours and weekends according to schedule.
  • Candidates must successfully pass post-offer/pre-employment drug test and background screen.
