Job Description

IT Infrastructure Manager is responsible for ensuring that the IT Department delivers quality services to the business. Service delivery includes conceptualizing, evaluating, designing, transitioning, operating, and improving services provided by IT. The IT Infrastructure Manager oversees this entire cycle as it relates to core infrastructure, Cloud applications (SAAS, PAAS, IAAS), and off-the-shelf applications and software. The IT Infrastructure Manager is responsible for budgeting, timely delivery of new services and enhancements, meeting availability objectives of operational services, and ensuring operation services and processes are continuously evaluated and improved.
 
The IT Infrastructure Manager works with Senior IT Management to develop a strategy to meet desired WLF business outcomes. In a leadership capacity, the IT Infrastructure Manager is responsible for managing the Systems Administration team, Facilities team, and the IT Service Desk. Successful IT Infrastructure Manager will provide leadership to these groups and their supervisors or team leaders, challenging them to grow in their careers, and meet or exceed the expectations of Senior IT Leadership. The IT Infrastructure Manager is not limited in providing leadership to the groups mention above as IT Infrastructure processes are vital IT functions elsewhere in the IT Department, including security and development. It is required that the IT Infrastructure Manager provides leadership to the entire department, helping to drive all work towards successful execution of the overall IT Service Strategy. The IT Infrastructure Manager is also responsible for ensuring all groups work as a common team to meet business and departmental expectations.

In a technical capacity, the IT Infrastructure Manager is expected to provide high-level technical guidance to the entire IT department, drawing on their years of experience designing, transitioning, and supporting/operating IT services. On a daily basis, they will work with their supervisors and teams to ensure the ITIL Service Lifecycle and related processes are executed correctly. When needed, it is the expectation that they will be able to gather business requirements and manage high-priority projects effectively.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage the alignment of the outputs of the systems administrators, facilities, and service desk teams to expected business outcomes, Senior IT Management expectations, and industry standard benchmarks (ITIL, DevOps, etc.)
  • Work with Senior IT Management to plan for and develop a long-term strategy and organizational structure to enable rapid business and process growth.
  • Supervise, train, and provide leadership to supervisors and team leaders in the systems administrators, facilities, and service desk teams.
  • Promote an environment of continuous innovation and improvement.
  • Create an environment of shared buy-in, reducing silo behaviors and improving overall teamwork between the systems administrators, facilities, and service desk teams.
  • Create, implement, and refine processes to align IT with various industry benchmarks (ITIL, DevOps, etc.) and continually improve service delivery.
  • Manage projects from concept to completion, including: vetting project ideas, evaluating vendors and creating RFPs, selling ideas and obtaining approval from executive management, service design, transitioning into operations, training and communicating effectively throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Work with Senior IT Management, Supervisors, and team leaders to create a great work environment
  • Drive continual improvement in quality, productivity, efficiency and cost.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Partner with all departments of the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree is necessary in Business (Management Information Systems) or equivalent major.
  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL Service Management concepts and experience managing ITIL processes with ITIL Foundations certification.
  • Demonstrated background managing IT Systems Engineering/Administration or IT Operations.
  • Demonstrated background driving organizational change and process improvement.
  • Understanding of ITIL Service Operations including Service Desk, Incident, Problem, Change, Event, and Asset and Configuration management.
  • Demonstrated background in Systems Engineering/Administration including Design, Transition, and Operations/Support of IT services and underlying technologies is preferred: Virtualization Platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), Database Platforms (MS SQL, MySQL, Cloud DBs), Server OS Platforms (Window Server, Red Hat), Cloud Applications (Google G Suite, ServiceNow, Identity Management, etc.), Backup Software (Veeam), Cloud Infrastructure (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure), Scripting (Powershell, JavaScript, API Integrations), Desktop Virtualization Platforms (VMware Horizon, Citrix XenApp), Storage Infrastructure (Compellent SAN, VMware Virtual SAN), Server Infrastructure (Cisco UCS, Dell).
  • Strong leadership skills including the ability to lead a team and influence IT service strategy throughout the department and organization.
  • Computer experience - Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or Google (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop others.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment of continuous change and challenges.
  • Must be able to work extended hours and weekends according to schedule.
  • Coaching and performance management experience a plus.
