We are currently hiring for a Research and Development Technician for our Bolingbrook, Illinois facility.

Job Summary: 

Research and Development Technician position is responsible for completing all R & D tests for product development and sales samples, assist in the development and data collection of new product development and support plant level new product startups in all departments.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Grind, slice, formulate, stuff and cook new products.
  • Operate slicer to slice new product to specifications.
  • Inject, tumble, and formulate IQF items.
  • Prepare meat, supplies and ingredients from the West Liberty plant for the pilot plan operations.
  • Pack coolers for sales samples and R & D testing.
  • Bag and label meats in the pilot plant.
  • Organize samples and supplies in the pilot plant.
  • Clean all equipment that is used through the day including but not limited to stuffers, grinders, slicers, oven rack, totes and miscellaneous items.
  • Prepare spices and ingredients for daily formulations.
  • Complete all daily production, quality assurance, government, swabs and UPS shipper paperwork for work completed at the pilot plant.
  • Support other facilities as needed for startups and other projects.
  • Others duties as assigned.


Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in quality assurance is preferred.
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to practice good personal hygiene.
  • Ability to perform basic math.
  • Ability to work in varying temperature conditions.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Work extended hours, weekends and overtime if needed.
  • Experience if food manufacturing or processing a plus.
  • Ability to adjust quickly to changing demands.
  • Basic computer skills using Google Suite.
  • HACCP plan certification preferred.
  • Good customer service skills are a must.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Candidates must successfully pass post-offer/pre-employment drug test, background screen and physical.
